And so it begins....
Elder Hayden Knight Clark has been set apart by President Eric Schmutz to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will serve in the Australia Sydney Mission, speaking Korean. He enters the Provo Mission Training Center ("MTC") on May 29, 2013. It is anticipated that he will be at the MTC until July 30, 2013.
Here are Elder Clark's final farewell words before he leaves:
"I don't know if the words "final farewell" fit this post very well. I mean, this is where it starts. My mission, my adventure, my story in Australia, tonight, it's changed from something that I looked forward to to something that I will live for the next two years. This is not an end, only a transition to my life as a full-time missionary.
I'm sure that as I go into the MTC, I'll begin to better understand what I'm really doing as a missionary. Sure, I'll be serving the people of Australia, but I think I'll discover that the work I'm doing will help not only them but everyone that I'm connected to. Maybe I'll only see immediate results in Australia, but something so life-changing as a mission must have greater significance than that. I have no doubt that what I do now will greatly impact myself and those around me in ways I would have never expected.
I guess to close, or rather, open: Thanks to everyone who has supported me and helped me out so far. Without each of you, I don't think I'd be the person that I am today.
Make every day better than the last!"
So very proud of you and your decision to serve a mission. We love having your family in the neighborhood, and have enjoyed watching you, Austin, Mckensie and Maddy grow up. We love you all and know you will be a wonderful missionary. Our prayers will include you, for your safety and protection, and for you to do the work you have been called to participate in. Go in faith...
