Week 30 - Merry Christmas Everyone

I met Alex a few weeks ago, and while he wasn't too interested in learning about the church, he was looking for a church to attend on Sundays, so we traded phone numbers. We tried to contact him to give him the details for where the chapel was and everything, but he never answered the phone or responded to texts, so I figured that he had changed his mind. Last saturday, we were having dinner when we got a text from him. It turns out that he had gotten a new phone number a little while after we met, but when he was looking at his old phone, he saw our texts. He was still looking for a church, so he contacted us. We sent him the address and the time that the meeting started, and he was there the next day. He was a active participant in the gospel principles and he really enjoyed it. He had to go afterwards, but he wanted to meet up during the week. It was a Christmas miracle. Heavenly Father has blessed us so much this week.

This week, we've taught a few lessons on the story of Christ's birth. We've been able to help people see the significance of the birth, life, atonement, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Their testimonies have grown, and it's helped mine to grow as well.

This week, I had an experience where the Holy Ghost helped me in a way that I knew that it was divine help. This is going to sound like a very small miracle, but last week, we were at a member's house and the other elders were giving a spiritual thought. Out of the blue, they asked me to lead everyone in singing and doing the actions for "The wise man built his house upon a rock", the primary song. I don't think I've sung that song or done the actions for it since I was in primary, but somehow, I was able to do it. It's a small miracle, sure, but it's helped build my testimony of the promise that we will be given what to say in the very moment we need it.

Last week, we read 2 Nephi 21-25. The Isaiah chapters were great, and talked about the joy of the Millennium. Nephi's explanation of why he has quoted Isaiah in chapter 25 clarifies things a lot. He knew that Isaiah's words would be of great worth in the last days. I've learned a lot from reading them this time, so I know that Nephi's words are true.

This week, we'll read 2 Nephi 26-30. Enjoy! Chapter 29 is one of my favorites. People wonder why someone would need the Book of Mormon when we already have the Bible. Well, I won't spoil it, but Chapter 29 answers that question.

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope that this year's Christmas is happy, healthy, and enjoyable. It'll be different to have a hot Christmas, but experience so far has shown that the spirit is the same.

Love,
Elder Clark
