On New Year's Day, Elder Stephens and I were about to go out to teach a lesson when we got a call from President Howes. There is a new missionary in UNSW. His name is Elder Wolfley. He is from Star Valley, Wyoming. With him, our area now has three elders, Elder Stephens, Elder Wolfley and myself. It's made for some awesome experiences and a lot of new opportunities. What an awesome time to be a missionary!
I had an experience with inspired questions this week. We were out finding near a basketball court at the University when I sat down next to a man named Chris and started a conversation. After introducing myself as someone who taught about God and Jesus Christ, he talked about how much he has seen different belief systems affect his friends for good. Then I had a question come to mind that just seemed so natural: "Well, what do you believe in?" He thought for a second, laughed, and said, "Well, I don't really have one." I bore my testimony of how much Jesus Christ has helped me and gave him a pass along card. As our conversation went on, I learned that that day was the first time that he had ever come to that basketball court. He said "Maybe God told you to talk to me." and "I've been looking for a belief system, maybe this is it.". That day, God literally put us in someone's path to invite to come closer to Christ.
Teaching with a three-missionary-companionship is a bit different than teaching with two. It's taught me a lot about finding unity in teaching, testifying, and working as a companionship. We've been able to share some amazing teaching experiences together so far, and I know that they will only get better as time goes on. We've been teaching the message of the Restoration to a lot of our investigators lately, and it is amazing to see the testimonies that have been born as we've taught it. I'm thankful to have this experience to teach with two awesome missionaries like Elder Stephens and Elder Wolfley.
Last week, we read... well, I actually forgot to assign something to read last week, so this week, we'll do a bit of catch up reading.
This week we'll read 2 Nephi 31 to Jacob 4. It's a little bit longer than the average week's reading, but I know you can do it. I've read these chapters several times this week, and I'm still noticing new things in them. I know you will too.
Have a great week. Lots of love!
