This week has had it's ups and downs (as weeks usually do), but as always, the work of God continues and my Korean is improving. This week, I had an experience with accountability. One night, at about 6-7 O'clock, we were at our flat having dinner. We had had a few lessons that day, and had done some finding, but I still felt that something was missing. It felt like the day had so much potential that we hadn't used. I just had this feeling to pray and ask if the Lord would accept our work that day. I received an answer of "Yes, if you make the most of the rest of it." So of course, my next question was "How?" Once again, I received the answer "Go out finding" It wasn't completely the answer I was expecting, but I figured that even if it was just me thinking and not the spirit, at least we would be out working. So, out we went. There weren't many people out on the streets, but as we were walking around, Elder Tupou saw a big Tongan security guard near a restaurant. They started talking, and while he wasn't too interested in learning about the church, this whole experience showed me that the answer I had received was indeed revelation. We were in the middle of Chinatown, and yet, we ran into someone who could speak Elder Tupou's language. When we went home, I knew that our work that day was acceptable before God.
We were looking for former investigators and less-active members in our area book to start working with, and a woman named Jia came up. From the record, it didn't seem like she was less-active for any particular reason, so we decided to call her and set a time to meet. She was happy to meet with us, and we thought we'd found a "golden less-active member". One of those who needs nothing more than in invitation to come back to church. When we met, however, we learned that she wasn't actually less-active. She was active, just in the Chinese-speaking ward. She had started attending that ward and had had her records moved, but from looking at our area book, we thought she hadn't been visited by the missionaries for around five years. If we had known that, we could have saved a lot of time and preparation. So, we updated our area book and saved the missionaries the trouble of doing the same thing again in another five years. Record-keeping is so important.

We've read to the end of 3rd Nephi. One of the major themes that I've noticed in the book this time is that it doesn't matter who you are, or where your from, or anything else. When you live the gospel of Jesus Christ, then you are the House of Israel.
This week, We'll read 4th Nephi (it's just one chapter) and Mormon 1-4. Here, we'll see the rise and fall of the Nephites after Jesus Christ's visit. Look for the cause of their fall, and see if it doesn't remind you of any recurring themes of the Book of Mormon.
