This week has shown me that the Lord is merciful. The week had been going along rather slowly and I was just exhausted spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. It just felt like I had come up to a brick wall with no end. Talking to people was difficult, and dealing with rejection felt so pointless. This state of monotony lasted for a few days, and by the end of the week, I was just wonder what God had for me to do when so little was getting done. I prayed for a miracle to break through this mental glass box that had come up around me. I felt a bit more refreshed, but things were basically staying the same. Then, on Sunday afternoon, we decided to go to a park near Central Station that we hadn't ever been to before. Along the way, Elder Jordan met a woman who has cousins who are members, one of which is currently waiting for her mission call. Some of her other family members in Canberra just got sealed in the Sydney temple. We talked with her about how the gospel has blessed her family, and she was keen on meeting with us again. Then, when we got to the park, I sat down next to a man and noticed that he had "Philippians 4:13" tattooed on his arm. I figured it was as good of an opportunity to start a gospel conversation with someone as anything, so I started talking with him about his belief in Jesus Christ. We had an amazing conversation about Jesus Christ, what missionaries do, miracles and of course, what makes Mormons different to other churches. We talked about the Book of Mormon and why it's so important, and before we left the park, he told me that he came to this park every week and he'd love to meet up again. He accepted a copy of the Book of Mormon and said a prayer with me in the park. Over the course of the conversation, that mental prison I was in just shattered. Once again, The Lord has saved me from things I couldn't overcome without His help.
On another note, that same day, Elder Jordan met a less-active member in the park who's visiting Sydney for a few days. He was baptized in St. George, Utah, which is about an hour's drive from where I live. We're having dinner with him tonight, and we will do our best to bring the spirit into his life while he's here.
Another great experience I had this week was the opportunity to meet with a member of the ward who is assigned to serve as a member of the Bishopric in the YSA ward. As we were talking over dinner, he talked about some people on his floor in his building who he'd like the missionaries to start working with. He and his wife are eager to fellowship, teach, and help these people grow in the gospel. They'll have to work with their assignment in the other ward to find out how to get their friends to Summer Hill Ward, but where there's a will, there's a way, and they've definitely got a will.

One of the big things I learned from PMG chapter 6 is that all of these attributes it talks about are connected. The section on hope also mentions patience, diligence, and faith. This is apparent in each of the attributes. I realize that as we work on developing a Christ-like attribute, we really develop several.
This week we will study a very underrated chapter of PMG, Chapter 7, which talks about learning languages. The principles in this chapter apply to so much more than studying a language.
Well, it's been a great week, Thanks for all that you all are doing!
Love,
Elder Clark
