Another week comes and goes in Summer Hill, bringing some great things. Unfortunately, we were not able to meet with Chul-Hee because his fiancee wasn't feeling well, but we did have some good experiences with a few other people in the area. One of our investigators, who we've been meeting with off and on for months had us over. While we were there, we met his wife. He had told us about her before and talked about how it wouldn't be good if we met, but she was actually really nice. She seems like she would be a great member of the church. She's going back to Korea for a while due to some visa issues, so we won't be able to start teaching her right away, but I know that Heavenly Father had us meet before she left for a reason.
There is a less-active member of the ward who we've been working with for quite a while. In the last few weeks, he's really started to progress. He's been coming to some of the ward's weekly activities and getting to know a few of the members. It'll still be a while before he is a fully active member of the church, but what I've learned from these last few months is that the Lord's timetable is his own. He knows what's really happening, and he knows what's going to bring his children to him again. Another thing I'm learning from all of this is that it's the members that really make the difference. We've been meeting this member for months, but until a few of the members of the ward reached out to him and made him a priority, he wasn't progressing at all. As soon as more members got involved, things just got better.
Coming on a mission has strengthened my testimony of the actual and literal restoration of the Gospel. Before my mission, I knew what the restoration was, and I knew it was so important that it had happened. However, since I have had the opportunity to share it on the scale that this mission has given me the opportunity to, I have come to know that it is the foundation of faith that Preach My Gospel says it is. I love everything about the Restoration. Because of the Restoration, I know that God lives, and that Jesus Christ is my savior in a very personal way. I know that Gospel of Jesus Christ exists in it's entirety. This is the foundation of everything we do in this church. We are not the typical christian church that derives it's doctrine from a reinterpretation of the scriptures. Our religion and my testimony of it come directly from heaven. I know God because he speaks to me.
