Week 49 - Out of Hebersham and into The Hills

Transfers were this week, and with them, I have left the Hassall Grove ward and gone to the Winston Hills ward. It's a very beautiful place, and I'm looking forward to working here.

This week's been a bit crazy as I've started to adjust to working in Winston Hills, but I really like the area. We visited a hospital yesterday to give a blessing to a less-active member. When we got there, I learned that she was from Korea and had been baptized in Hyde Park a long time ago and her husband had served a mission in the Seoul! On one hand, it was great to meet some members of the church that could speak Korean, and on the other hand, it was very humbling to see how much I still have to learn. I'm looking forward to using Korean more in this area, and I'm sure that it's one of the reasons, among others, that the Lord has sent me here. I've been praying for chances to use Korean since I've come here, and this is definitely an answer to that prayer.

The ward has some really smart programs for helping members do missionary work. I don't know too much about them yet, but the ward has found a lot of good things as a result, so I'm looking forward to learning more.

In the last 6 weeks, I think that the most important thing I have learned is how the Lord will provide a way for His children when they are obedient, diligent, and above all, charitable. When I first came to Hassall Grove, I thought that it would take many months before we could organize, build, and establish a functioning area. In the last few weeks of the transfer, we've started seeing miracles as people have found others for us to teach and meet with. Things that seemed so impossible have become real. I know that it is because the Lord had prepared a way for us to do His work in that area. I know that miracles like these can happen in any area.

Last week, we read Alma 36-40. I learned a lot from these chapters about what makes a successful follower of Jesus Christ. Really, it all boils down to "The Gospel of Jesus Christ". Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Recieving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End.

This week, we will read Alma 41-45. There's a lot to learn, so don't be surprised if you learn something different each time you read it.

Love,
Elder Clark
